The Urban Education Research Center at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, in collaboration with the
Pride Charitable Fund, is proud to announce the commencement of an LGBTQ+ Needs Assessment
Survey. This initiative aims to comprehensively identify the current needs, strengths, and resources of
the LGBTQ+ community in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
The project, entitled Voices of Pride: LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment will consist of two parts.
First, a survey that will be available to LGBTQ+ Community member from April 8 th until August 31 st , 2024.
This survey aims to let community members identify and describe their current needs. After the
conclusion of the survey, focus groups with community leaders and advocates will be conducted in the
fall of 2024 to dive deeper into survey findings. The results of the project will be available for community
members and will result in current, actionable data that can inform changes in the local community.
